TC Travel Diaries: Saint Lucia

Where are we today? If you are just joining us, check out our last installment of TC Travel Diaries, which follows our team of experts and top travel professionals as they explore the happy island of Aruba and secluded shores of Curaçao.

Today, our TC Travel Diaries brings us to the stunning shores of Saint Lucia. The northern part of the island, known as the “gold coast,” holds many of the activities and resorts, while the less developed eastern side offers adventures abound. Whether you seek romance, adventure or home-grown chocolate, this Caribbean jewel has something for everyone – all set before the stunning Piton Mountains.

Our first stop on the island was at BodyHoliday, an all-inclusive sanctuary whose tagline is “give us your body for a week and we will give you back your mind” – sign us up! This active property caters to solo travelers as much as couples, so the atmosphere is very social and engaged. After a morning of yoga and afternoon of snorkeling, guests can enjoy their daily complimentary spa treatment, choosing from options like a thalgo oxygen facial or aloe yogurt body wrap.

ID’s Insight: To make the most of your BodyHoliday experience, start the morning with a BodySPIN class in the Treehouse followed by a relaxing massage at the spa. Grab a green juice at the Smoothie Bar before hitting the sand. ID’s favorite part of BodyHoliday is its stunning beach!

Our next stop was at Capella Marigot Bay, set in Marigot Bay – one of the Caribbean’s most secure anchoring points. The property has its own marina, which makes a beautiful backdrop to the resort’s modern furnishings and peaceful atmosphere. The iconic Marina Village is just a few steps away as well, with high end shopping and restaurants, including a weekly farmer’s market on Sundays.

ID’s Insight: Tapas and a rum tasting at The Rum Cave is a must here! Inspired by the Caribbean’s colonial era rum distilleries, there is a dedicated rum sommelier who will share his knowledge on the essential island spirit as you nibble on light bites and socialize with other guests. Perfect for newcomers and connoisseurs alike!

Finally, we arrived at our last stop on the island, Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort. The location can’t be beat – rooms are set into the hillside offering stunning views of the Pitons and Caribbean Sea beyond. The Rainforest Spa has an amazing ambiance – each treatment cabin is in its own “hut,” and light rain plays in the background for a totally unique and refreshing spa experience.

ID’s Insight: For a culinary treat, start with cocktails at Cane Bar followed by dinner at Great Room Restaurant. Start off with a sexy cocktail and sushi appetizer at Cane, or if you would prefer, a ‘rummelier’ can help you choose the perfect rum. Afterwards, dine on delectable surf and turf at Great Room – the ingredients are all organic and so fresh – the beef literally melts in your mouth!

That’s all for now… join us next time as we wrap up our year of Fams with an unforgettable trip to Seychelles, Dubai and Maldives!
