TC Travel Diaries: Bahamas

Where are we today? If you are just joining us, check out our last installment of TC Travel Diaries, which follows our team of experts and top travel professionals to the adventure destination of Belize, its rustically luxurious lodges and natural wonders.

Today, our TC Travel Diaries brings us to the sunny Bahamas, consisting of more than 700 islands, cays and islets spread across 100,000 square miles of the Atlantic. This ecological oasis boasts some of the clearest water on the planet – perfect for a playful dolphin encounter or lazy day lounging beachside.

Our first stop is in New Providence, at the stunning Albany Bahamas. Originally developed as a gated community for investment bankers and sports stars alike (Tiger Woods is one of the founders), it was eventually opened up as a luxury resort with unparalleled surroundings, architecture, sporting amenities and service.

ID’s Insight: The condos at Albany Bahamas are spacious and luxuriously appointed, perfect for a getaway with a few other couples! For an active afternoon, hit the resort’s 18-hole championship golf course and state-of-the-art fitness facility – designed to impress – with a CrossFit gym and full size boxing ring.  Or, for a more relaxing experience, charter a yacht to explore the sea in style via the premier yachting marina on-property. We promise you’ll feel like an A-lister!

Our next and final stop was at the regal One&Only Ocean Club, a stylish Bahamian beach resort with the polished elegance of a private estate. Three pools offer three distinct vibes, whether you are looking for chic and sexy, quiet and peaceful or fun with the kids. Alternatively, lounge on the beautiful white sand beach with the azure sea at your toes.

ID’s Insight: For a pampered day in paradise, start poolside with a fresh breakfast and some morning sun. The attentive pool concierges will look after your every need, from sunscreen application to sunglass cleaning. After an afternoon stroll through the property’s Versaille Gardens (complete with 19th century statues!), and ID’s favorite champagne and strawberries amenity, get lost in the sublime cuisine of Dune by Jean-Georges – seafood with a dash of Bahamian spice.

That’s all for now… catch up with us tomorrow in the stunning St. Lucia!
