TC Travel Diaries: Turks and Caicos

Where are we today? If you are just joining us, check out our last installment of TC Travel Diaries, which follows our team of experts and top travel professionals to the Caribbean Islands of St. Martin and Anguilla to experience some of the country’s most elite hotels, beautiful beaches and renowned cuisine.

Today, our TC Travel Diaries brings us to the striking shores of Turks and Caicos, consisting of forty islands and cays – only eight of which are inhabited – leaving a wealth of unspoiled private islands to claim as your own… if only for the day. With plenty of seamless direct flights from major gateways, 350 days of sunshine a year, and a climate described as ‘perpetual June,’ Turks and Caicos is the perfect island getaway to escape the winter blues.

Upon arrival at Providenciales International Airport, we were greeted by our friends at VIP Flyers Club. Customs and immigration was a breeze thanks to their Arrival Fast Track Service, which had us in and out of customs and on our way to paradise in less than fifteen minutes.

Our first stop on the island was Amanyara, serenely nestled within vast protected parkland on the secluded western shores of Providenciales. Overlooking the pristine reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park, the setting lends itself to an ultra-private escape for any VIP traveler. The Asian-inspired architecture is designed to emphasize the natural environment and delivers an unmatched ambiance for lounging in your oversized private infinity pool with an Amanyara signature mojito in-hand!

ID’s Insight: We suggest starting the day with a yoga class by Amanyara’s resident yoga specialist, overlooking the tranquility pond enhanced by the warm morning breeze. Next, partake in a signature Aman massage in the privacy of your Villa’s treatment pavilion – guaranteed to restore and rejuvenate.

Two days of zen bliss flew by and we were off to our next hotel, the renowned Grace Bay Club located on the world famous Grace Bay Beach. One of the first luxury properties to inhabit the islands, Grace Bay Resorts has something for everyone – whether you are looking for a sophisticated standalone residence, beach-chic suite or premium penthouse – Grace Bay Club has it all for families and couples alike.

ID’s Insight: While at Grace Bay Club, indulge in canapés and sunset cocktails at the Infiniti Bar, the first infinity bar in the world and the longest in the Caribbean. A creative menu offers locally-inspired tapas dishes and unique mixology creations, enhanced by the seductive glow of beachside fire pits, encouraging guests to linger way past sunset.

After a long day of property visits (hey – finding the world’s best hotels can’t be no work and ALL play, right?) we arrived ready for some relaxation at The Palms Turks and Caicos. This charming resort offers spacious suites, with a classic Caribbean-plantation feel – not to mention their world-renowned, 25,000 square foot spa – recently named the best in the Caribbean.

ID’s Insight: Simply put, a day at the spa is a must! As anticipated, the accolade-embellished sanctuary lives up to its award-winning status. After a tranquil treatment, explore the peaceful oasis of reflecting pools, gardens and lounge areas that will have you walking on clouds. An après-treatment light lunch from the spa menu is the perfect afternoon accompaniment.

Our last stop on this relaxing journey was COMO Parrot Cay, located on a private island just 30 minutes by ferry from Providenciales. Cars, pollution and streetlights are replaced with paddleboards, pristine reefs and panoramic sunsets in this complete disconnect from the world.

ID’s Insight: No request will ever be too large or too small for your dedicated majordomo. Known for their level of service, they will ensure your vacation experience is customized to supersede all expectations. Have them create a private picnic lunch on COMO Parrot Cay’s serenely striking beach for a memorable afternoon.

Au revoir for now mes amies… tomorrow join us as we explore the stylish island of St. Barths!
